Response to 'Metaphors on Vision'

I believe that Stan Brakhage makes an interesting comparison between the art of film and the cyclical nature of life, and how we as humans try to make sense of life through images and dreams. The most interesting segment of this piece is where Brakhage observes how we have regressed over the years in the sense that we can only perceive the natural facets of life through symbols and objects. Despite the fact that "contemporary" issues exist which would necessitate people finding new ways to express their fears and uncertainties, they are simply ignored in favor of pre-existing images.
