Response to Ontology of Photographic Image

The Ontology of Photographic was interesting to me because the author described painting in order to emphasize photography. Initially, I was confused on why the author was describing painting; however, when he contrasted painting and photography I found that technique quite unique. Bazin's descriptions painted two pictures in my head. One picture of a painter's hand and another of a photographer, looking through the eyes of his or her lens. Through the reading, I was able to gain a new perspective on art. I was able to recognize that photography was able to capture both realistic and surrealistic art.
